NCO members and guests are invited to attend a special event touring member’s boat shops and a couple of unique collections of automotive memorabilia, cars, and hot rods. NCO will rent 15 passenger vans to transport us to the workshops where boat restoration projects are underway and we will see some very beautiful finished boats and autos.
The tour will begin from the parking lot of the Ramp Restaurant at Sandy Beach Marina, 3719 S. Main Street, Akron at 9:00 am. (There is plenty of safe parking for your vehicles). The vans will head south to Gary Kosiba’s just out of Canal Fulton, then move to Doug Brooks’ shop in Wadsworth, and then to Guy Pipitone’s shop in Fairlawn. On the ride back to the Portage Lakes area we will eat our boxed lunches. There we will tour Byron Kruger’s shop, Gil Maringer’s shop, and Terry Miller’s museum like collection of automotive artifacts. Finally around 2 pm the vans will return to the Ramp where we will see owner of the marina and restaurant complex, Jim Genovese’s collection of muscle cars, hot rods, and many very interesting boats. Be sure not to miss all the boats that decorate the inside of the Ramp and stay for a while at the bar and restaurant. There will be a number of rest room stops along the way. In all, the trip is approximately 55 miles and most of the locations have easy access from the vans.
This event is by RESERVATION ONLY. Your check will insure your place on the vans. We expect to fill 3 vans that we have rented – 45 people in all, so please reserve early. SEND CHECK MADE OUT TO:
